Patient Forms                                      

Upon entering our office Maureen will greet you with a welcoming smile and assist you with any questions orconcerns you may have, along with who referred you to our officce since 90% of our new patients are referred by friends and family. This paperwork gives Dr. Nigus a general overview of your health and major concerns prior to the complimentary consultation. Our paperwork is located under the 'new patient center' icon if you wish to fill it out prior to your visit.  Don't worry it only takes a few minutes!

Consultation

After filling out the brief paperwork you will be introduced to Dr. Nigus for your complimentary consultaion. During this time Dr. Nigus will discuss any health care concerns that you have, starting with your number one complaint. From this point Dr. Nigus will ask a variety of questions to better relate to your condition and to make sure you are in the right place. Lastly, if Dr. Nigus feels you are in the right spot he will ask if there is anything else he needs to know about your condition. Then he will run a complete diagnostic work up which includes: picture of your spine, neurological and orthopedic tests, and a general physical. Before the examination begins Dr. Nigus will determine if he can help you and discuss any cost at this time.  

Examination

Upon entering the exam room Maureen will first take your vitals: height, weight, and blood pressure. If indicated Maureen will then take the necessary series of x-rays. Once Maureen has finished this portion of the exam, Dr. Nigus will complete the remaining portion of the exam. He will begin by having you put your hand on the area that is bothering you the most. He will then palpate the area and proceed with the neurological and orthopedic exam. When Dr. Nigus is completed with the examination he will finish by offer a relief treatment, explaining he needs time to correlate all the information so he can explain what's wrong, what needs to be done, how long it is going to take, and answer any other questions.

X-Ray Studies

Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to get a full evaluation of a patient. X-rays are our "window" into the body, and help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.  Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays and can often immediately identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.

Report of Findings

On the second visit, referred to as 'The Report of Findings", Dr. Nigus will review the examination and x-ray findings; explaining what is causing the pain and what needs to be done to help correct the cause of pain. Dr. Nigus looks at each patient's condition as a new and unique case. Each case is designed to achieve maximum results in the shortest time possible. Dr. Nigus will explain in detail what your case intales and how long it will take.

Treatment

Treatments are customize to fit each individual's unique case. Treatments may include: intersegmental traction, EMS, spinal adjustments, and a variety of acupuncture. See "Services & Techniques" for a description of each therapy. Dr. Nigus specializes in the most advanced form of adjusting, "specific prone".

Wellness Program

Prior to leaving, patients will be instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.  If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, our wellness team will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success.  Every body is unique and different and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan.  The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking supplements, keeping your weight under control and stress relief.
